Did you know PaperStone is used to make guitar parts? The durable material is ideal to create “jigs” which are used to machine guitar parts. The durability of PaperStone coupled with the ability to easily machine it, makes it a great option for guitar makers like Sylvan Wells of Wells Guitars, who has been using PaperStone for years to help make guitars. Sylvan says, “The workability and stability of PaperStone and the ready availability through CaraGreen make it the perfect option for Wells Guitars as we continue to create better and more innovative guitar designs.”
It is now anyway. We have expanded our reach with the addition of Stirling Morris as Director of Southwest Sales for CaraGreen. Stirling’s experience in commercial architectural product sales coupled with his background in education makes him an ideal fit for CaraGreen’s collection of modern surfaces and our suite of training programs for the architect and design community. Stirling will be focused on growing awareness and specifications of our beautiful, sustainable suite of surfacing products, including IceStone, Durat, and PaperStone. Please reach out to Stirling and welcome him to the team- stirling@caragreen.com

We are excited to announce a slight departure from our interior focused materials, as we bring on Gator Skins skate ramp material. These 1/4” thick, incredibly durable sheets, create a better textured, more durable and cheaper ramp surface that performs better than comparable products on the market.
We already have one successful installation at a snowboard park at SugarBush in Vermont. If you are a skater, or have friends that are, please share the news that this great material is available locally and at a great price. Call us at 919.929.3009 or email info@caragreen.com for more information and like us on Facebook.
No, really, we do keep moving. We have settled in to our new digs, after a great run at Industrious co-working space, we have set up a permanent showroom at 404-C Glenwood South in Raleigh. Combining rustic and modern, as we do best, we have used our own materials to decorate our space and we really love it.

Schedule a time for our new CE course (AIA) on the emerging design trend: Biophilic Design
This course explores the various ways to incorporate nature into a space and examines several case studies that show the economic and performance benefits in employee health and well being. This goes beyond techniques for buildings and looks at people. With human health being top of mind across industries, this course offers a way for designers to directly contribute to making the world a better place in which to work and live.

Leave it to the progressive folks at Countertops of Memphis to be a forerunner in becoming certified in Lapitec. They attended and executed the one day training and are ready to start taking jobs for Lapitec. We are responsible for getting the word out and bringing them business for outdoor kitchens and modern interior flooring, walls and countertops. One of the few shops that believes in social media, this team is ready to be at the forefront and not afraid to take the leap into new products that will drive and secure their future business. We look forward to sending a lot of Lapitec business their way.
While we had a great time at GreenBuild 2016 in LA, it was because we were able to cohesively bring three of our brands together as Modern Surfaces: Durat, IceStone and PaperStone. This collection of partners and products made a big splash with our Create Better campaign. (more on this later). However, the overall feel of GreenBuild as a show has changed – and not for the better. There were not many building materials there, and those that were felt like clones of one another, with no real sustainability story. The people across from us were selling massage chairs. This was nice for us, but not sure this is the market for $7000 chairs. And why were they not vetted? Next year is in Boston, and it will be interesting to see the direction that show takes.
In this modern mecca of stark white, eye-blasting brightness, we are pleased to see Core Restaurants incorporate orange in its design in three inspiring materials from CaraGreen. Durat 480 is a bright primary orange that is used for solid surfacing and not only has the highest recycled content in its category, but is seamless, clean and wears well. Kirei EchoPanel is used for acoustic baffling in color 295 and 151, creates waves on the ceiling for a dramatic, vibrant effect. ReSawn Timber is used on the walls in color Orenji, which is a charred, brushed cypress with an orange finish that subtly ties the different guests together. Core restaurants are healthy choose-your-base salad and grain restaurants that cater to the healthier individual consumer who wants a say in what they eat, and wants to feel good about it too.
